Trials and Triumphs

First of all state the obvious. This blog site has changed. The three columns were really annoying to try to read and post images. Also, the font color and background are a bonus.

Now for the trials…

The large scale compass on the right is not as sturdy as it looks. It is really difficult to hold a compass steady that is almost as long (or short) as my legs. Therefore, I had to find round surfaces that had the approximate diameter that I needed for my first two layers. Thanks to the short coffee table in the Cyber Cafe I have a base layer that after a little sanding turned out relatively even. Also, thanks to the persistent rain the museum board dried inconsistently against the chipboard, as did the gloss coat of paint that I put on over the colors. Fortunately these obstacles are relatively salvageable and in my budget.

Take some studio shots of what you’re doing on ground floor–this is interesting in its raw form!
