10/19 UNEXPECTED, brainstorming
Today we drew a word to kick off our new project, to make a one minute video. This word, mine is “unexpected” will be the basis for our short film. After brainstorming for about 30 minutes on my word, I began to feel like I was gravitating toward negative words, so I took a break and came back to it later this evening. Below is one of the pages of words that I came up with as I was re-brainstorming. I have to admit, it is going in the same direction as earlier. I believe this is because, I don’t typically expect really horrible things to happen. When they do, I try to overcome them and use them as a learning lesson to prevent them in the future. For example, the many times our house was broken into. There was a time when our house was a regular target, and I began to expect that we would be broken into again. The downside to this (or maybe up) was that I became very removed from my belongings, as I didn’t expect to have them for long. The upside to this was that I was able to think about why we would be a target, and to try to prevent this in the future. Now, I no longer expect that someone would brake-in to our house without getting bit by a bull-mastif.

One thing that I did get from this experience, is that all of my un-expectations reside on what I in my personal life experiences, have come to expect. They change and evolve, many times with my influence to create my present reality and near future.
