10/09 Spreads due

All spreads were actually due Wednesday (10/07), however due to technological problems (printer) we were given until today to have everything printed out and uploaded to moodle. Again, I am having issues with moving my CS4 Illustrator spreads to a printable Mac that has CS2. So needless to say that is slowing my process down. The main reason it is frustrating to me, is that I feel a sense of responsibility to my classmates and to the honor policy to get work in on time. And I hate letting other people down when I have committed to something. Other than that, I consider the challenge a gift and a learning experience. I am so grateful to be in this course and once I figure out how to render the crop marks, resizing, moodle and the printing situation I will be in business. I will do the next round in lickety split!

Below are two additional letters that I did spreads for, J and E. Oddly enough I started 3 different spreads for the letter “J”. For some reason I had it in my head that J was one of my letters. I am not sure that I love the dusty color of the floor against the nail gun, which seems to blend into the floor, but I think it works to have the J more of a shadow than the physical “J”.  I love the font that I chose because it looks as if the nails are shooting out of the nail gun on the left side of the page. After finishing this spread I noticed a commonality in a few of my spreads. Images that typically have movement came into motion through their accompanying font. Much like saying or writing with a particular font gives words a perceived sense of motion.
